Description
Designed by Pininfarina Ferrari 156 Shark Nose is a new creation from the interior designers of Ferrari. The Shark nose was developed in conjunction with Pininfarina's aerodynamic specialists at their wind tunnel facility. This car not only carries the most sophisticated aerodynamic wind tunnel technologies ever devised but also incorporates unique styling to give Ferrari an aggressive look that makes the car even more beautiful.
Pininfarina designed the Ferrari bulbous nose using the CTAD (combined deflective and diffuser effect) system which is an example of the Art Deco architecture that emphasizes the curves of the body structure more than the straight lines. This is why the car can be called as the "flyingtip" Ferrari. The CTAD uses two curved fins instead of one to spread the air flow to different directions. These fins allow the air to hit at various angles, thereby reducing the pressure on the nose and running the risk of creating vortexes, which break the air into droplets which are often seen as white spots on the noses of modern fast cars.
On the other hand, the side vents, creases, and intakes positioned on the rear help to cool the engine area. The air entering the car through the windscreen also helps cooling. The rear diffuser adds drag to the car, thus raising the ground clearance to a great extent. If you compare the Ferrari with a shark, then you will understand why Ferrari designed this car so differently. Therefore, if you want to drive a Ferrari during the high-speed races, the Ferrari 156 Shark Nose is the right choice.
