Wouldn’t you like to be invited to a Christmas tree decorating party such as this one? Surrounded by squirrels, gently falling snow, and a friendly snowman, you can see that the tree is already quite well decorated. There are ornaments to be found all along its lush, richly green branches. However, you can probably find some more space somewhere on this tree. This is a fantasy moment on a cold winter’s night, but it’s a moment we would love to find ourselves within nonetheless. This is a beautiful scene that is certain to appeal to fans of Christmas. I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating.
