A Retro style painting can be inspired by many things. It is common to see this style painting done in bright, bold colors reminiscent of the fifties and sixties. Although today's painting can also have the same effect, it has a much more futuristic look about it. Retro style painting is often used as a framing or background image for a poster, a still from a movie or any kind of publicity or marketing artwork.

The colors chosen for this type of painting are typically pastels or dark blues. This gives it a more mysterious feel about it and helps bring out the atmosphere of the fifties. You should always keep in mind that, if your poster is going to act as wallpaper or as an actual painting for your wall, then you might want to invest a little bit more money in it to get a good quality material that will last a long time.

I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine.
