This is because of the quality of detail that was put into the painting. The artwork of artist Jan Keteleer who did the artwork for this particular painting was a testament to the quality of workmanship that he brought to the art form of his time. He painted the plane in the flying format that was most commonly used at the time.
The painting of this aircraft is done in what is known as the "retro-caption" style. This is a painting technique that was adopted by some of the best painters such as Andy Warhol.
