This painting is definitely a retro-style painting of a Gloster Gladiator from 1934. What really stands out about this painting is the vivid color combination that is used. The colors used are vibrant and rich, which definitely make this painting an impressive sight. In fact, many people consider the painting to be old but when you see it close up, you will realize that it is not at all old. The coloring in this painting actually stands out due to the contrast between dark and light shades which were used. The art work done on the plane represents the glamour and glitz of the avant-garde art movement, which was quite prominent in the fifties. However, there are many experts who feel that this painting has nothing to do with aviation and instead can be attributed to a painting called "Degree of Light" by artist Edvard Munch, which was actually done on a much different scale.
