A nude woman sits quietly, looking out at something. It seems as though she is floating over the water. Ultimately, we don’t know where she is, but we can venture as many guesses as we please. What truly captures your attention in this acryl on canvas piece is the fact that she is very clearly looking at something. She is not sleepy. She is not lazy. Her attention is intense, and there is no question that it is focused on something. We just can’t say what that might be. Available as wall art, t-shirts, or as interior home décor products.
About Jan Keteleer
I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine. While you can find examples of holiday pieces, or tranquil scenes of nature or animals, I am particularly fond of pieces that combine classic art elements with modern sensibilities.
