With cursive text below her, Barbara puts a hand on her hair, and looks up towards something that we can’t exactly see for ourselves. Some might say that she is looking to heaven in this wonderful fine art piece from Jan Keteleer. Others would say she is looking towards a sound that she herself can’t quite identify. Others still might suggest that she is simply waking up from a long rest, and just happens to be looking to the sky at that exact moment. However you interpret this piece, you can’t deny that this wonderful work can be found just about anywhere.

I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine. While you can find examples of holiday pieces, or tranquil scenes of nature or animals, I am particularly fond of pieces that combine classic art elements with modern sensibilities.
