Are Amy and her beagle Buddy lost? That might be the case in this lovely street scene, which depicts Amy and Buddy in a phone booth. Buddy is paying rapt attention, but he doesn’t seem to be too concerned. Nor does Amy. Perhaps, they have just gotten a little off the beaten path. With the streetlights on over their heads, we can guess the early evening is settling in. This piece is noted for the deep tones that create the sky, and for the body language that tells us what’s going on with Amy and Buddy. I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine.
