Why is the Porsche 550 Spyder the Most Famous Sports Car?
I think for a lot of two reasons. One, people like to have the latest and greatest cars and two, people love classic sports cars. Most people do not consider owning a sports car in their life to be the most fun, but if you are a classic car fan then owning one and driving it is the ultimate experience.
When people think about owning a sports car, they think about driving high-end luxury cars, that has a huge price tag to go with it. While there are some great examples of this, I think a lot of people forget that the cars that were built for racing were also, built with their ability to race in mind. That is why the new versions of these types of cars now come with all of the modern conveniences that we take for granted in our day to day lives. I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating.
