Surrounded by beautiful flowers, water, and lush greens, Two Swans and a Bridge depicts two gorgeous, effortlessly regal swans on a beautiful day. They are moving slowly along the water. They almost seem to be in some sort of conference. Did you know that swans can mate for life? Perhaps they are partners. A bridge nearby would allow us to stop, watch the scene in front of us, and wonder what might happen next. This acryl on canvas piece is the kind of moment we would love to experience for ourselves. About Jan Keteleer
I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine. While you can find examples of holiday pieces, or tranquil scenes of nature or animals, I am particularly fond of pieces that combine classic art elements with modern sensibilities.
