We hardly seem to see payphones around these days. Given technology, this certainly makes sense. However, the mysterious woman in this painting has found one along the side of the road. She has parked her classic Chevy car nearby, and she’s placing a call. We can imagine the phone booth amazingly works, which begs the question: Is this remarkable piece, featuring acryl on canvas, set in the present, or are we looking to a scene from a long-gone era. You decide. This piece is available as wall art, on t-shirts, or in the form of interior décor products.

I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine.
