Description
In this powerful image, we see an older black woman with her hands over her face. She is trying to cover them up, but we can see a single eye peering out at us from behind her weary hands. This is a powerful reminder of the way we close our eyes to racism. Some of us look with only one eye, hidden behind our trembling hands. This black and white with color piece reminds us that it is not simply enough to look with a partial gaze. We must stare back at racism with both eyes.
