Imagine being transported to a perfectly still lake with a beautiful pier that looks out over one of the world’s most beautiful natural wonders. Een bootje in een meer is a beautiful painting that describes the most peaceful feeling that you could experience. With the haunting shadows combined with the perfect contrast of a light background, it really brings the picture to life. The smudging and shadowing creates the ideal foggy display with the beauty of a full moon illuminating the entire painting. There is also a brilliant incorporation of wild life to bring gorgeous natural elements into play.

I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine.
