This fine art piece by Jan Keteleer shows the inherent wonder in the beauty of the human form. This black and white profile depicts a powerful subject, to be sure. It is very easy to lose yourself in the wonder of the details that come to define everything this image has to offer. There is a quiet determination to a face like this. When you look deeper into the eyes, you can imagine quite easily the possibilities of the life this woman has lived so far. Of course, you will never know for sure, but you can’t help but speculate on her history nonetheless.

I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine.
