Artist's Description
When asked where the most peaceful place you can think of is, many people would respond with the beach. Beach hut transforms what would normally be an ordinary beach hut into a mystical painting that has so much depth to it that everyone will interpret it in their own way. It includes images of a quaint hut shrouded in a cloud of mist while standing in still water that you could envision dipping your toes into. With the implementation of seagulls in the background flying through the mist, it is a realistic adaptation of what true peace would look like with the combination of cloaked mystery.

I love to present works that challenge our perceptions of the world around us. For example, our relationship to advertising visuals and slogans is often a complex one. When we take these artificial concepts, and combine them with an example of humanity that has been stripped down to its core, the results can be quite fascinating. I am a Belgian artist with interests in both classical and contemporary art. I particularly love the opportunity to bring those things together in the most unique ways I can imagine. While you can find examples of holiday pieces, or tranquil scenes of nature or animals, I am particularly fond of pieces that combine classic art elements with modern sensibilities.
