Description
Jaguar Type D 1956
The Jaguar D-Type was produced purely for motorsport, but after Jaguar stopped building the car for motorsport, the company offered the unfinished chassis as the public-road version of the JaguarXKSS. These cars were given a number of modifications such as a passenger seat, a second door, a full windscreen and a roof. But on 12 February 1957 a fire broke out on Browns Lane plant. The fire destroyed nine of 25 cars that were already finished or almost finished.
